Carnival Triumph – Family Vaca 2017

Sorry for taking a bit to write this one since we have returned….

So I told you all that we were taking a family vacation together for the first time since we lost Big Bubby. The crew included, my husband and I, Million Dollar Brother and Dapper Des, Baby Sis and Red Headed Step Child (need a new name for him, explanation later in post), my close friend from high school who lost her only child a year and three months before Big Bubby (Oklahoma Girl), and my mom (Nana). THE INFAMOUS BOOK WRITING….

So, if you have followed me for very long, you know that I am trying to write a book about the last year and a half of my family’s life. I had a conference call with one publisher before we left on our cruise to discuss publishing my book once I get it finished. Which I am not sure how long that will take as each chapter takes on a life of its own and I am constantly reminded to take a break as it is hard to write about what has devastated our family. Daily Prompt: SOMEDAY

Daily Prompt: Someday

Lots of ideas on what to write about this prompt….

I could make a list of the things I want to accomplish – Someday like:

  • Visit England
  • Visit Australia
  • Write a Book (in the process of talking about doing this now)
  • Retirement (not possible with day and age but a girl can dream)
  • Vacation in Red River New Mexico where my husband and I honeymooned
  • Been with my son in Heaven and wrap my arms around him tightly

Daily Prompt: Cling

Cling? Cling to what? Life, love, family, friends?

Over the past 14 months I have clung to a lot of things including all of the above. When I think of the word Cling, used to, I would shy away from it. I am not a touchy feely kind of person, ask anyone who knows me. I also wasn’t one that needed anyone to help me with anything. I did’t like asking for help at all (no comments from any of the peanut gallery out there who know me personally). Continue reading “Daily Prompt: Cling”

Well Into the New Year….

As I started this new year, I promised myself that I was going to be more proactive about a lot of things. Included below are a handful of what I promised myself:

  • a budget for my family that we are going to stick to
  • writing/reading the scripture every day (I have a plan to follow to keep me on track)
  • working through a wonderful bible study that Kathleen Duncan and her husband have put together regarding Grief
  • Seeing the joy in my life not just my loss
  • Live in the today, not in what could have been

These are just a few of the things on my list of reminders (I refuse to use the word resolution because I never accomplish those and I am determined to accomplish these). Continue reading “Well Into the New Year….”
